North Texas Yearbooks: The Best Yearbooks are Taylor-Made
Karen Otto, Carroll High School in Southlake, TX
As a first year adviser, I was very needy. I faced a teaching assignment which eleven years of typical classroom teaching did not prepare me for. Enter Chris Cox, my rescuer. Chris has his own unique brand of imparting knowledge to the first year, needy yearbook adviser. His infectious can-do attitude and personality, his joyous sense of humor, and his uncanny ability to provide help and feedback without making one feel utterly inept are Chris’s specialties. It was Chris’s constant and heartfelt urging that I must believe in myself which gave me the confidence to stay focused and sane, because honestly, this first year was intensely stressful.
When I signed with Taylor Publishing and with Chris Cox as my representative, I had no idea that I would gain a friend. I knew that Chris was extremely talented and dedicated to his career, but from our first meeting, I knew that Chris would be much more than just a name on a business card. He instantly made an effort to get to know ME, as a person. When my mother-in-law passed away suddenly last spring, Chris offered his heartfelt condolences by sending a sympathy card. While she was sick, Chris passed along an angel token for me to carry in my pocket to stay strong. Chris just lets his heart lead sometimes, and that’s a rare combination in the business world, yet one could never meet a more professional person.
Chris is a boundless source of support and energy. He has promptly returned my frantic phones calls for help, assisted my staff produce an impressive yearbook, coached me through the successful start-up of my school’s first yearbook, and provided very valuable insight along the way. He is passionate about uncovering each yearbook staff’s unique gifts and helping shape and create a yearbook that resonates with the students, staff, and community. I have never encountered anyone who genuinely cares about the success of his clients and tries to get at the heart of what will work for each person the way Chris Cox does.![]()
